Stereotypes are the product of the culture that wants its members to be identified by their manner of thinking, behaving and thus giving them a collective identity. To classify and look at someone as a stereotype does not allow people to see him as a being with personal values and codes or multiple identities. Intercultural competence is the process of analysing the image which we have of ourselves and understanding the image others have of us; an analysis which enables us to free ourselves from our preconceptions.
