Using Internet resources to write
Before you start, take a look at the objectives. We also recommended you read the comments, which focus on didactical issues. |
| In written production (writing) activities, the language learner produces a written text for one or more readers. Examples include: completing forms and questionnaires; writing articles for magazines, newspapers, newsletters, etc.; producing posters for display; writing reports, memoranda, etc.; writing creative and imaginative texts; writing personal or business letters, etc. (CEF, p. 61)
|
The activities suggested in this chapter will help you understand how to make better use of nondidactical resources on the Internet to improve writing competences.
You will also find a number of linguistic research strategies, using examples found on the Internet. |
| You can choose from several activities:
Writing a message of congratulation for a wedding --> >>
Writing a brief description about yourself in Portuguese >>
Describing a city >>
|
The suggested activities show how to use the Internet to find examples of the texts to be written, or some elements which can help writing such texts. The activities also suggest repair strategies using resources such as online dictionaries, correctors...
These activities have been chosen to help students write as authentic and correct a text as possible and to assist students in correcting them. It's important for students to know how to find the resources they need and on the other hand how to use them effectively.
Learning a language is about learning strategies and also about learning how to learn a language itself. |
| Now that you have done the activities from the Didacticlang team, put together an activity for your students in the area of written production. --> |
