| The idea of writing as a process can also be enhanced with wiki software that is used within the classroom, allowing access only for a specific group of learners. A typical feature of wiki software is being able to store different versions of texts. Any user is free to view and to add text to any version at any time, which offers some potential for collaborative writing tasks. This may help learners develop an understanding of the writing process by showing them that:
any piece of writing consists of different steps;
a text is a complex construction that is never 'finished';
peer-correction and peer-work are useful means of improving the quality of a text.
