About LangDidactics
A small independent editorial team writing practical guides for language teachers. Here is how the site is made, how it earns money, and what to do when we are wrong.
What we publish
Guides on teaching methods (communicative, task-based and action-oriented teaching, CLIL), on designing exercises and giving feedback, on digital tools and AI in the language classroom, on lesson planning and differentiation, and on assessment with the CEFR levels, rubrics and self-assessment. Everything appears in English and German and is written for teachers of any language.
What we do not do
We are not a school, a training provider or an exam centre. We do not run courses, issue certificates or register anyone for exams. Teaching qualifications, careers in language teaching and online tutoring platforms are covered by our sister siteaplanet-project.eu.
This domain before us
Until the late 2010s, the address didacticlang.eu belonged to an earlier, now closed project on language teaching and the internet. LangDidactics is a new and independent publication. We are not its successor, we have taken over none of its content, and we have no connection to the people or institutions involved in it.
How we work
- Sources first. The Common European Framework of Reference and its companion volume, published research on language teaching and the documentation of the tools we describe. Where we describe classroom practice rather than research, we say so.
- Dated facts. Tools change their prices and features often. Time-sensitive statements carry the month they were checked.
- Tool comparisons are editorial assessments. We compare tools on documented criteria such as exercise types, preparation time, cost and data protection. We do not publish invented test scores or star ratings.
- Corrections. Substantiated errors get fixed. Significant changes are noted on the page.
How the site is funded
LangDidactics is a commercial publication. It is or will be funded by advertising and by partner links to some of the tools and books we mention. If you buy something after following a partner link, we may receive a commission; the price is the same for you either way. Partner links are marked.
No provider pays for a mention, a position or a verdict, and no provider sees an article before it is published. Where a free tool is the better choice for a class, we say so.
Who writes this
The site is written and edited by a small team rather than by named individual authors, and we do not attach personal bylines or invented credentials to the pages. Editorial responsibility sits with the operator named in the imprint.
